Preventive Care
Our preventive care programs focus on teaching individuals and communities habits to keep teeth and gums healthy.
Preventive Dental Care
Preventive dental care is essential at every stage of life. By maintaining good oral hygiene at home and scheduling regular dental checkups, you can protect your teeth and gums, prevent dental disease, and enjoy a healthy smile for years to come.
Why Preventive Care Matters
At Greenbrook Pillars Foundation, we promote prevention as the first step toward lifelong oral health—helping individuals and communities reduce the risk of cavities, gum disease, and other oral health challenges.
Preventive care helps stop dental problems before they begin. Simple daily habits, combined with professional dental visits, can significantly reduce plaque buildup, tooth decay, and oral infections while supporting overall well-being.
Take the First Step Toward Better Oral Health
Preventive care starts with daily habits and regular dental visits. By practicing good oral hygiene and seeking routine professional care, you can protect your smile and improve your overall health.
Preventive Dental Care
Brush and floss daily, limit sugary foods, and visit your dentist regularly to keep your teeth clean, strong, and cavity-free.
- Brush twice daily using a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste to remove plaque and food particles. Be sure to gently brush your tongue to reduce bacteria and keep breath fresh.
- Floss at least once a day to clean between teeth and below the gum line where toothbrushes cannot reach. Mouthwash can also help kill bacteria and freshen breath.
- Eat a balanced diet and limit sugary foods and drinks. Healthy options such as fruits, vegetables, yogurt, and cheese help protect tooth enamel.
- Schedule regular dental checkups every six months for professional cleaning and early detection of dental issues.
- Ask about dental sealants, which provide added protection to cavity-prone back teeth.
- Use protective mouthguards if you participate in sports to prevent dental injuries.
